Dr. Bassem G. J. Salman

Dr.Bassem joined Black Cat Engineering & Construction as Technical Manager in October 1999.

His mandate was to set up a Design & Detailed Engineering department to supplement the "E" in the EPC projects. From that time, BCEC grew its engineering capabilities to a fully fledged EPC contractor.

The Role of Technical Manager in BCEC is of overall supervision of the EPC project execution, to ensure all deliverables from E to P to C to final handover are in accordance to contractual technical requirements, and best industry practices.

The Challenges in this role are great since this industry is highly technically demanding, and errors in any part of the project (especially in Engineering and procurement) can cause large losses financially to the project, as well as to the operating clients.

He obtained a 1st Class Degree as a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronic Engineering in July 1993 from the University of Wales Swansea (UWS), where he received the Institution of Electrical Engineers UK(IEE) for best overall results during final year, and the Oldham memorial prize best results in Final year (part3).

Dr.Bassem received his Ph.D. (UWS), UK, Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering in January 1997. The research was centered on numerical modeling of radiating structures at high (Microwave) frequencies of operations in aerospace industry. The work received an E.P.S.R.C. grant for further developments in conjunction with GEC ALSTHOM U.K. where he worked from 1996 till 1999.
